Salary/Wage: $54,550.00 - 105,920.00

General Position Responsibilities:
Specializes in network design, operation and implementation to meet the functional
requirements of MSI customers - while conforming to Company, industry, & technical
standards and specifications. Works closely with Internetworking Sales staff to respond to
RFPs, makes sales presentations, consult and communicates with all level customer
contacts, etc., on a daily basis. Responsible for network integration, operations software
and system configurations - as well as back-end operational support - including
post-implementation problem resolution. Engineering aspects of this position included:
network design, coordination of network development, fabrication, assembly, testing &
systems assurance, definition of network topology, integration of diverse network
systems/components, tuning of network systems, defining network parameters, evaluation and
selection of MSI-distributed products and services, installation of hardware and software,
etc. Responsible for assessing requirements, designing, developing and deploying
internetworking applications and solutions - all within the established operating
guidelines of the Internetworking Division of MSI.
Position Requirements:
Requires a BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or
related field with 2-3 years of proven internetwork design and implementation experience
in a CISCO based network
environment. Thorough knowledge of the OSI model and various data communications routed
and routing protocols and media types (TCP/IP, IPX, SNA, BISYNC,RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF,
Ethernet, token ring, FDDI, ATM, VLANs), etc. Thorough knowledge and experience in the use
and configuration of
various Telecom and network equipment such as routers, bridges, switches, concentrators,
CSU/DSUs, Frads, Multiplexers, channel banks,etc. Voice and Data integration experience
preferred.
Must be familiar with the use of diagnostic/test equipment (SNIFFERS, PROTOCOL ANALYZERS,
SPECTRUM ANALYZERS, LINE MONITORS, etc.

GE Harris Railway Electronics is really hurting for system and software
